Working meeting of the representatives of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center with the United States Department of Energy /National Nuclear Security Administration

The delegation of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center and the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory participated in a working meeting with the United States Department of Energy /National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) experts on June 21-22, 2023 in Bratislava, Slovak Republic.

Delegations from the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU), NNEGC "ENERGOATOM" and the State Space Agency of Ukraine also attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on expanding partnership and the range of technical cooperation in the field of radiation protection and nuclear safety in Ukraine. In particular, they discussed the possibility of strengthening the capabilities of various entities of monitoring the radiation situation in Ukraine through technical and technological re-equipment of observation points and analytical laboratories and exchange of radiological data at the national and international levels. The meeting paid special attention to the re-equipment of observation points of the radiometric network and analytical laboratories of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Service.
