Ukrainian Hydrometeorological CenterEUMETSAT Information Day
Representatives of Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute and the Hydrometeorology Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine participated (online) in the Eumetsat International Information Day "Information Day for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Europe, which was held on 27-28 April 2023, in Tbilisi, Georgia.
In addition to Ukraine, representatives of hydrometeorological services from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan attended this event.
Participants of the Information Day discussed the following issues during the meeting:
- Current status of Eumetsat programmes, including the Copernicus programme.
- New products: Meteosat Third generation and the Satellite Application Facility (SAF).
- Training courses related to the new generation meteorological satellites MTG.
- Access and usage of Eumetsat data.
Ruslan Revyakin, Head of International Cooperation Department, Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, made a joint presentation "Satellite information within the system of hydrometeorological organisations of Ukraine", in which he shared information about the usage of satellite data in the work of hydrometeorological organisations in Ukraine.
