The 77th Session of the Executive Council of the World Meteorological Organization
The 77th Session of the Executive Council (EC-77) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) was held from 5 to 6 June 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland
This executive body of the WMO implements decisions of Congress. The Executive Council coordinates programmes, manages the budget, considers and acts on resolutions and recommendations from the regional associations and technical commissions, and studies and makes recommendations on matters affecting international meteorology and related activities. The Executive Council normally holds a session at least once a year.
Members of the EC-77 discussed following themes:
- Implementation of Congress and Executive Council decisions: technical matters;
- General, legal, policy and regulatory matters;
- Budget for the next biennium;
- Human resources matters.
Mykola Kulbida, Director of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UHMC), Permanent Representative (PR) of Ukraine with WMO, Vyacheslav Manukalo, Head of standardization sector of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute, Hydrology adviser of PR of Ukraine with WMO, and Ruslan Revyakin, Head of international cooperation department, UHMC, participated in session online.
